Catherine has built her career around strong, relationship-driven roles. Her experience in senior leadership and team motivation has taken her far and wide, allowing her to refine her ability to connect with people and guide them through important life decisions. Now, she’s delighted to be back in the Bay, close to her hometown of Katikati. As Village Sales Manager, Catherine thrives on welcoming new residents and supporting them as they transition into village life. She takes great joy in seeing the community flourish and retirees embracing all the village has to offer. Catherine thrives on being an active aunt and loves having her nieces and nephews drop by to chat with residents. She enjoys being close to the beach, making the most of sunrise walks, ocean swims, and so much more. Mondays are reserved for Twilight Social Bowls, where she plays alongside her college friends and Village residents at the local Matua Bowling Club, Catherine is also a proud Bay of Plenty Rugby Steamers supporter.

Phil has a varied background mainly in financial planning and business coaching. With many of his previous clients being retired, he developed a real affinity for people in that stage of life. He also has a real interest in sustainability, having also worked at the world’s largest worm farm – right here in New Zealand. As Village Manager, Phil’s main priority is ensuring he is available to support residents, whether it’s considering their ideas for improvements, or encouraging them to embrace the opportunities they have here at The Bayview. Phil feels lucky to work at a place with such an incredible view and great team and is happiest seeing residents relaxed and having fun. Phil is married with three grown up daughters and coincidentally his in-laws' house borders the village grounds! You may occasionally spot his pride and joy around the village – his 1954 Plymouth. He also has a caravan and enjoys getaways around NZ as well as overseas travel. Phil keeps fit playing rugby and has joins the residents on Mondays for twilight bowls.

Salvin is a registered nurse and first started his career in New Zealand at one of Oceania’s sister villages on the Kapiti Coast before moving to The Bayview. As Business and Care Manager, his role encompasses many areas, such as ensuring the smooth running of operations, clinical oversight, and settling in new residents and their families. Salvin has an open-door policy and a key focus of his is working with the residents to ensure their specific needs are met. He coordinates with the Resident Services Manager to help tailor aspects of residents’ care to their specific requirements wherever possible. Salvin relishes the time he gets to spend hearing the amazing stories the residents have to tell about all the wonderful things they have done in their lives. A family man, Salvin is kept busy at home with his three young sons. When he gets the chance, he loves to get on the road to explore New Zealand.

Rajender, or ‘Reddy’ as he is known to everyone, is our Executive Chef at Bayview. His passion for cooking began at a young age, and he graduated from a culinary institute in India at just 18 years old. His culinary journey took him to Costa Cruises Italy and Royal Caribbean Cruises in the USA, where he prepared meals for up to 5,000 people daily. This global experience was key to broadening his perspective, exposing him to diverse cuisines, cultures, and destinations. Reddy is proud to call New Zealand home, embracing its beauty and progressive culture. He’s thrilled to be part of the Oceania family, a company he feels values talent and fosters a warm, inviting work environment. With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he says that Oceania is the most rewarding and caring company he has worked with. Outside of work, Reddy enjoys spending time with his family, especially playing with his two boys. He’s also a cricket enthusiast and loves exploring new destinations whenever possible.
